Underrated Cuties - Cougar Edition

My blog tends to run a little more on the serious side. On occasions, I let my hair down and have a little fun with it. This blog is a dedication to women who I think are sexy in their own right who seem to fly under the radar. This edition is for the cougars (40 +).....*growls*. Let's go!

Theresa Randle: I'm 92% certain those are contacts, but it's all good. She first got my radar from her role in Bad Boys. She has that "Around the Way" girl look. Probably wouldn't spot her out in a crowd if she wasn't famous, but most definitely a cutie. She has a beautiful smile and I love chicks with high cheekbones. I have forgiven her for that debacle Girl 6.

Wendy Raquel Robinson: She caught my eye playing the uppity wanna be down Principal on The Steve Harvey Show (what an original title!). Something about a sassy woman who knows which fork to use at dinner time does something to me. She's a little slim for my usual liking, but she rocks what she has well.


Lynn Whitfield: Such a classy beauty who has aged oh so gracefully. I know she's old enough to be my mother (actually born the same year as my mom), but this lady is stunning. Even when she was playing a nutcase, she still had that regal aura about her. I love a sophisticated woman and she just oozes this. More than likely, she sits at home drinking steele reserve whilst scratching her balls, but on camera she comes off mad classy.

Sheryl Crow: Now I know some of you are scratching your head. First, you're gonna say "she's not underrated!". In our community I have not heard many people clamoring over this woman, so yeah she is underrated. Two, you're gonna say......."Sheryl Crow?!?!.....c'mon son!". Yes, I think this lady is a beaut. A woman who has rocked out with both MJs (Micheal Jackson and Mick Jagger) is a keeper in my book.

This is not the definitive list of underrated cougars, but it's a heck of a good start. If any of you ladies are reading this blog.......I've never had a cougar, but I'm always willing to give one a shot. Peace.

L.I. At the Movies: The Book of Eli

I'm gonna say this off top.....this movie starts very slowly. If you have ADD, I recommend you not go see this or go get refreshments until about 25 minutes in. Just a quick forewarning. I'm gonna give you a quick rundown before I give my thoughts.

The movie is set in post-apocalyptic times some 30 years after "the flash". Eli, whose name we don't learn until late in the movie, is heading westward after being instructed by a voice. He is carrying this powerful book that can make people do whatever it says (sound familiar?) The country is in ruins. Water is scarce. Hijackers roam the land pillaging and killing people for whatever they have. Eli is a survivalist who speaks softly and carries a big gun, knife, crossbow, etc.

On his search for water, he ends up in a town that is doing pretty "well". Long story short, the town's owner realizes Eli is a literate man and wants Eli to work for him. The owner offers Eli food and lounging and "entertainment" from Mila Kunis *gaaahh*. Owner finds out that Eli has "the book" and all hell breaks loose. That's as far as I'll go because I don't want to ruin it for you.

I thought the Hughes Brothers did a wonderful job with this movie. I was almost shocked to find out this was their project. The cinematography is magnificent....I haven't seen a movie this beautiful since Belly. Denzel is still finer than a mofo......I'm a lezzie...not blind. Mila Kunis....such a gorgeous woman.....Home Alone ain't hittin' that right.......hey I am a lezzie.

The movie really make me think. The message I got from it is how wasteful we are and how we take things for granted. These people were killing for water, soap, batteries....things that we throw away or run through without second thought. Really made me think of how flippant we are about things and how we believe that there is an endless stream of "stuff".

I love the Bible and I read it a few times a week. However, we cannot deny the fact that the Bible has been used throughout history to promote all kinds of agendas. In Eli's hands, the book was used to for good, for survival. The town owner only wanted it so that he could control the people and expand his territory. I gathered that in the right hands, the Bible is a tool. In the wrong hands, it becomes a dangerous mind controlling weapon.

The Book of Eli will probably be one of Denzel's lowest grossing flicks. Doesn't help that it's directed by a couple brothers *shrugs*. I believe its the first must-see movie of the year. It's thought provoking and is a sure conversation starter. I give it 4 mics.....go see it. Peace.

The Littlest Braveheart

Anyone who knows me knows that I love my babies (little sister and nieces and nephews) like nothing else in this world. I'm so fortunate to have such wonderful little men and women in my life. If only they knew how much they teach me about the world. I like listening to what they have to say and how they view things.

Out of all of them, I worry about the most about my little sister. We may not share the same blood (technically she's a godsister) but that doesn't matter. I introduce her as my sister and I treat her as such. She called me last night to tell me about school and other stuff. As we conversed, I noticed a change in her demeanor. I ask her what's wrong and she tells me that she is worried about my pops. My pops had a very minor surgical procedure done last week. He's fine and recovering quite nicely.

Little sis was 8 years old when my mother died. Old enough to remember fond memories and old enough to remember what happened. Without bashing or judging, I will say that her biological family leaves a lot to be desired. I shudder to think where my little sis would be without us. At 11 years old, she has seen and heard things that a child shouldn't be exposed to. She's one of the strongest people I know. I am always praying that God keeps her protected and that he wraps her in His arms.

Sorry to get off track. Basically little sis tells me that she's scared of losing my pops. I cannot predict the future, but I did my best to assure her that she will never be alone. I never fully understood how much my mother meant to her until last night. She was just recalling some of the things that she and my mother did together. I guess the happy memories overshadowed the moment of sadness she experienced.

I got off the phone thinking about how I felt at 25 when she died. How lost and confused and hurt I felt. Feeling like I had been robbed of so many years with her. I cannot fathom the thought of losing her before I became a teenager. My thoughts soon went to admiration.....little sis is a trooper. She is proud to call me sister and I'm inspired by her strength. Peace.

Drowning in a Puddle

I don't like "deep" faux intellects...at all! It's something about an incense burning, headwrap wearing, anti-establishment, def poetry jamming, pseudo intellectual. I know the description I gave is hella stereotypical, but it was needed to drive this point home.

I read blogs and message board postings of people like this and I can only facepalm. Dude, you're not nearly as deep as you think you are. To be funky, B, it sounds plain silly. Wrapping asinine ideas in a myriad of metaphors, big words, and psycho babble is what it boils down to. Not saying these types aren't smart, but the package makes it all wrong.

Thanks to the interwebs, anyone can be a genius. I can look up a word, factoid, quote, etc to make myself appear to be some supernatural scholarly type. I'm not impressed by the sociopolitical tirades. Their "deepness" is annoying to me. The cosigns of easily impressed people kinda make me wanna hurl. One click to wikipedia and you can say everything they did.

Real intelligence is based on how big of words you use. Intelligence is being able to convey your thoughts and opinions in a coherent manner. Intelligence is being able to use what you know in real life situations. Lastly, intelligence is knowing that no matter how "smart" you think you are....there is someone even smarter. Peace.

Needing to Lay On an Iceberg

One thing I've never considered myself is a horndog. Like any normal human being I have urges and desires, but I don't ever recall them being out of control. Some days they're up and some days they're down but in the end, it balances out. Well lately, they've been way way way up.

I wouldn't say I'm frustrated. Frustrated was a long time ago. I don't even think I see it in the rearview anymore. Heck, I don't remember it being this bad as a teenager. I have had dreams, daydreams, fantasies, and my imagination run wild.

Surf the net....Alicia Keys in a catsuit looking amazing.....thoughts go straight to the gutter. Go out to the mall.....see a beautiful chick walk past me......thoughts go straight to the gutter. Okay, how about I try to stay busy? Over the last few days I have read a book, rearranged my closet, worked on some mixes, and decided that the chicken did in fact come before the egg. It ain't working.

The homies are saying well just call up one of your standbys and do what you do. Most women are far too clingy for just a hit and quit. All of the women I know like that are like that. As much as I would like to release some tension, it won't be with any of them. I value my sanity far too much for that. This will pass. I got basketball, NFL playoffs, and an ice pack.......I'll be fine. Peace.
